Recent legislature in certain states has made it difficult and sometimes impossible for women to access vital abortion services close to home. Choices understands how serious this is and welcomes women from outside the NYC Metropolitan area and from other states to access services via its Out of Town Program.  Choices is part of a dedicated care network of healthcare providers, organizations and charities that are committed to helping you get the services you need.  Our hospitality program has helped women from upstate New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Georgia and from other areas such as Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Barbados.

If you live outside of the NYC area, in another state or even another country, the Choices mission and commitment to its patients remains the same and crosses all boundaries, geographical as well as political. Through Choices Out of Town program you will be able to access the care you need, including safe, confidential and compassionate second trimester abortion services. When you call to make an appointment, ask to speak to a Choices Counselor who can help you with the following:

Financial Assistance – Choices accepts Medicaid from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Delaware. In some cases, prior authorization may be required.  We also partner with funding agencies, such as The New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) that have been established to help pay for abortion services for low-income women.

Overnight Housing – If you are coming for a two-day procedure or traveling from a long distance, you may need to stay overnight.  Choices has made arrangements for discounted hotel rates or can connect you with an entire volunteer network of caring people such as Haven Coalition.With a bit of advance notice, Haven Coalition will “host” your stay at one of their homes and can arrange for an escort to accompany you to your appointment at Choices.
