If you’re one of the many people wondering, “Where can I get free or low-cost health services?” staff members will help create a financial plan that suits each patient’s individual circumstances, including Emergency Medicaid, because no one should have to compromise the quality of their health care due to their economic status.
Choices Women’s Medical Center provides New York State Emergency Medicaid to cover pregnancy-related services including prenatal care and abortion. You can apply on-site and be approved the same day as your appointment.

CHOICES is one of the only medical centers with on-site enrollment into the Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP) that offers same-day application and same-day procedure. With proper documentation, FPBP provides FREE family planning and GYN visits, as well as FREE round trip Metro cards to Choices.

CHOICES provides up to 26 months of free GYN services through our Family Planning Extension Program (FPEP) to residents of New York State when a pregnancy that was covered by Medicaid has ended and a woman does not qualify for FPBP and does not have any other insurance. FPEP is often automatic, regardless of immigration status.

Ask an appointment coordinator or the front desk about our free NYC Metro Card program for Medicaid and Managed Care Medicaid patients. You may qualify for free transportation to and from your appointment at CHOICES. Plans include: Affinity, Americhoice (UHC CM), Amerigroup, Fidelis Care, Healthplus, Healthfirst, Horizon Healthcare, Metroplus, and Wellcare. CHOICES is committed to helping ALL women obtain abortions, even those from states with restrictive abortion laws. Our Out-of-Town program is designed to encourage and support women from other states to come to our abortion clinic to carry out their reproductive decisions. We accept Medicaid from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Delaware, and will help patients arrange affordable transportation and hotel accommodations. We are affiliated with Haven Coalition, a volunteer organization that provides overnight housing for abortion patients who need it and provides an escort for patients to and from abortion.

We work with pre-qualified, reputable reproductive health clinics across the U.S. on behalf of disadvantaged women in need.
National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) works with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice.
