As an escort, you are trusted to provide emotional support, protect patients’ privacy, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable. Compassion, confidentiality and clear communication is important in your role.

How To Pick Up The Patient:

  1. Keep your phone near to your person for important updates.
  2. Ensure you have the patient no. before she is brought to the 2nd floor SurgiCenter
  3. Expect a call from the CWMC nursing staff when the patient is almost ready for pick up.
  4. Arrive at our escort-pick up location on Jamaica Avenue 5-15 minutes before the specified time.
  5. Call the escort phone number below to notify the staff that you have arrived.
  6. Provide gentle physical support as they will still be recovering from the procedure.

Dos and Don'ts

Dos:

  • Do maintain a calm and positive demeanor.
  • Do respect the patient’s wishes and boundaries.
  • Do provide physical and emotional support to the patient, as necessary.
  • Do use open body language (smiling, making eye contact, having an upright posture, and using gestures).
